PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design (IED)

Introduction to Engineering Design is the first course in the Engineering Pathway. This course will provide the basic principles of the engineering design mindset while emphasizing problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking through hands-on projects and collaborative activities. In applying the use of industry-standard tools when working out solutions on authentic, problem-based projects, students will gain an accelerated understanding of the engineering design process from conceptualization to implementation. By the end of this weighted course, students will be well-prepared to pursue any and all advanced college and career pathways in Engineering. Early college credit is available upon successful completion of this course.
