Prerequisites: Intro to Plant Systems
Have you ever wanted to grow your own food in your yard or even your kitchen as well as learn about sustainable farming practices? Students will explore and apply foundational plant knowledge in the interdisciplinary fields of aquaculture, plant production, and restorative farming practices. Engage in hands-on activities, projects, and challenges that cover plant production, soil and soilless systems, hydroponics, composting, and other sustainable growing techniques. Learn to effectively use plants and fish for food production while promoting sustainability. Participate in real-world projects similar to those faced in the small and urban farming industry. Gain practical experience in the production of food. This weighted course is eligible for Dual Credit through COD.
