Introduction to Health Occupations

This course is an introduction to the careers available in health care. Emphasis is on communication skills, job qualifications, educational requirements, and career opportunities for the numerous health care professions. Topics to be discussed will include health care career pathways, medical ethics and laws, vital signs, trends in health care, alternative medicine and various health care systems. Students will engage with guest speakers and field trips, emphasizing health and medical careers. This course is dual credit with College of DuPage upon successful completion of the course. This course is also a prerequisite to Health Occupations.
